Invisalign uses a series of removable, custom-made clear aligners — changed every one to two weeks — to move teeth according to a digitally planned sequence. Fixed clear braces use tooth-coloured ceramic brackets and wires bonded to the teeth. Invisalign is removable for eating and cleaning; fixed clear braces are not. Both are available at Hanwell Smiles — your clinician will recommend the right option for your case at your free consultation.
Invisalign causes mild pressure for the first one to two days after switching to each new aligner — this is the planned tooth movement beginning and is expected. Most patients find it considerably more comfortable than fixed braces throughout treatment. Paracetamol can be taken if needed during the initial adjustment period.
